Women In Trades Conference

Ede Slovin of the National Institute of Women in Trades, Technology & Science met with Arkansans this week in discussions about non-trad recruitment and retention. The two-day conference hosted by Perkins was held at the Hilton Little Rock Metro Center. Attendees from colleges around the state left with great ideas for bringing in students of both genders into programs that are currently non-traditional.

Resources distributed at the conference included binders containing samples of advertising, information about WomenTech resources, and a look at City College of San Francisco's recruitment and retention success plans. Attendees also received a resource CD.
